The Dunedin Midwinter Carnival is produced by Dunedin Midwinter Celebrations, a registered charitable trust based in Dunedin. We believe it is important to celebrate our distinct seasons in a way that is appropriate to our local environment. Each year we produce a number of events based around artistic design and performance, working with talented local artists and the wider community. We are committed to achieving the highest artistic standards and constantly improving the Midwinter Carnival event and installations.

Creative people are needed to make lanterns for this year's Midwinter Carnival. Learn to make a lantern then help guide families through the process of creating the lanterns they will carry on Carnival night including a procession at First Church.
