Working Hours



Volunteers are required to:
use all information resources and information systems to research and answer client enquiries
assist clients with filling in forms, letter writing and advocacy
assist with other tasks as delegated by the Board or Manager
Attend monthly training
commit to one shift per 1-2 weeks
meet annually with Board or Manager for appraisal
attend Bureau AGM

CAB deals with all types of enquiries, from Employment issues to Social Services, Tenancy to Relationships.


Must be able to relate well with a diverse range of people. Have good oral and written communication skills, and be an effective listener. Must be computer savvy. Must understand and maintain strictest confidentiality at all times and display non-judgemental and impartial attitudes. Be prepared with prior consent from the client, to advocate on a client's behalf.

Volunteers will be interviewed and undergo police vetting. Two referees are required and will be contacted.

Dress Code: Clean and tidy casual wear

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Once trained most volunteers do one shift per week of 3 hours
