Course Marshal

Wanaka Titans

Working Hours

This fun obstacle course is also a fundraiser for local charities and a means of helping the landowner develop Glendhu Station so that the event and the land can grow and benefit from use. The 2020 Wanaka Dash takes place on October 25th and will have two distances to choose from:

5km with 20 plus obstacles and 10km (2 laps) with 40 plus obstacles

Volunteers are required to man certain parts of the course to ensure participants navigate the course correctly. Volunteers will be paired up and assigned a certain location on the course to direct participants doing the obstacle course so that they manage the obstacles and follow the course correctly and safely. They will be required to contact the event organiser in the case of a participant injuring themselves so that the first aid responders can respond if required.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet other volunteers, get out in the fresh air and gain personal satisfaction helping people navigate and complete the Wanaka Dash. Funds raised will be donated to a local charity, so volunteers all contribute to this money being raised.

No specialist skills are required. Volunteers should be reliable and friendly and happy standing for a number of hours. Volunteers should wear comfortable and warm clothing and good footwear suitable for off road functionality - running shoes or hiking boots.

Volunteers will be briefed on what they need to do during the course of the event.

Time commitment

Volunteers are needed on event day October 25th between 8am and 1.30pm.
