Our members are our incredible partners in the voluntary sector and this role supports the work that they do and how best we can help them. The Membership Volunteer (MV) is responsible for helping to make connections from volunteer-involving organisations and community groups (VIOs) to Volunteer South. The key goal is to increase membership of VIOs to the Volunteer South Connect database in order to give potential volunteers a wide array of volunteering opportunities in the Dunedin area.


  • Experience working with people from a wide range of cultures, ages and backgrounds.
  • An understanding and a commitment to community needs and organisations.
  • Competency in professional writing.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, passionate and positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work alone and be self-motivated.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

1 shift per week for 3- 4hours.
Days of operation are Monday – Friday between 10AM and 4PM.

A 6 month commitment to Volunteer South is preferred, but this is negotiable.
