Practical Help





Home Support Services is a volunteer-based programme that works with parents of preschool age children in their home to teach parenting & household skills and provide practical help. The goal is to. Help build self-confidence. Teach life skills that are of practical value in the home. Help people make the most of the resources that are available to them.


Our ideal volunteers are: Practical, Open-minded, Have a good sense of humour, Warm and empathetic, Good communicator, Willing to provide hands on support. We especially need people with experience in: Raising children, Running a household, Cooking & baking, Gardening, Craft skills, Basic budgeting

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

A couple of hours a week, negotiable times and days to suit volunteer and family.
