Grey and Crack willow are under constant control at Te Nohoaka o Tukiauau / Sinclair Wetlands as are other weeds like gorse, broom, glyceria and grasses. We use a range of control methods; hand pulling, hand tools, mechanical, and spot spraying
Volunteers need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Whilst experience isn't essential for all weed control tasks, to handle chemicals a growsafe 'approved handlers' certificate would be required. (for the right candidate this may be something we can help with)
Dress in outdoor appropriate clothing
Full training will be provided.
Volunteers agree to follow our health and safety plan.
