Arts Centre Gallery Sitter

Queenstown Arts Centre

Practical Help

The Queenstown Arts Centre was established in 1962 and aims to encourage and promote our local Artists from the Lakes District and Southland regions to both New Zealanders and our International visitors.   It also has a large Workshop room, Gallery and Artists Studio's.

The Arts Centre is open Tuesday – Saturdays 10am-4pm and are seeking a volunteer to sit at the Centre on a Sunday 10am to 4pm, This is a on-call position so the volunteer can choose if they are able to assist or not each Sunday.

Optional Volunteering - during their exhibitions they need help hanging the artworks and re-packaging after the Exhibitions.  They also need help 'manning' the Rooms when the Exhibition is on.  This involves meeting visitors and assisting them with enquiries regarding the artworks on show.

An interest in Art would be really helpful but it is not necessary to have a background or experience in art.
They would like a Volunteer to have a friendly, outgoing mannner and to preferably have previous Customer Service experience as you will be working in a Sole Charge position at the Arts Centre on the Sunday.

Time commitment

Sundays 10am-4pm. This position can be flexible so they dont have to sit every Sunday if they are unable.
