The Plunket Society is a non-profit national organisation whose people are passionately committed to the well-being of children and their families. Plunket support families to ensure children reach their full potential in the first 5 years of life. Services available include parenting advice and support, child health promotion and health education.
Volunteers are required to assist at events hosted by Upper Clutha Plunket or ones where they have their popular Plunket Tent providing shade and facilities for littlies when attending events such as Warbirds over Wanaka or the A&P Show. All such events raise vital funds which are directly fed-back into the organisation enabling services to continue within the community.

Volunteers will gain satisfaction from supporting this worthy local organisation, contributing to the fundraising efforts and enabling families in the Upper Clutha to use the facilities at local events. Volunteers get to meet new people and often get to enjoy the events they are volunteering at for free.
Skills required vary depending on the role required. Volunteers are representing The Plunket Society in the community so should be happy speaking to members of the public and enhancing the reputation of the organisation. Volunteers should be honest, trustworthy, approachable, friendly and ideally have an interest in families and children’s well-being.
Varied - events take place throughout the year and most roles consist of an hours help upwards.
