Following six hugely successful rides starting in 2015 Montessori Children's House Wanaka and Wanaka Primary School are working together to host their seventh safe, family-friendly, fundraising motor bike trail ride. They aim to host an epic days ride whilst raising significant funds for the schools - to date over $155,000 has been raised and donated directly to the schools.
This event is held on an annual basis, generating a significant portion of both schools' fundraising amounts each year. These funds will be used to enhance the children's school environments and experiences.
Volunteers are required in a range of roles. Please note - volunteers do not need to be interested in or have a knowledge of motorbikes to get involved as we are looking for help in lots of different areas including:
Depending on the role undertaken volunteers will gain an insight into event planning as well as having the opportunity to meet new people, develop new skills and we hope will gain satisfaction from enabling this new event to take place and raise funds for many of the local children at Montessori Children's House Wanaka and Wanaka Primary School. The team strive to make your involvement enjoyable and rewarding and worth giving up your time for!
Skills vary depending on the role assigned and any volunteer keen to help out will be matched to a role that suits their availability, skills and interest. Some roles require specialist riding skills - the team will discuss these requirements with anyone interested in a riding role
This role is located off State Highway 8A, Long Gully Station (approximately 20 minutes drive from Wanaka; over the red bridge but before Tarras). No transport is provided but we can help arrange car pooling.
Event day in 2022 is April 2nd and in addition volunteers are being sought to assist with roles in the week before and after. Volunteer shifts will vary and we aim to accommodate anyone who has time to offer.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
