The Plunket Society is a non-profit national organisation whose people are passionately committed to the well-being of children and their families. Plunket support families to ensure children reach their full potential in the first 5 years of life. Services available include parenting advice and support, child health promotion and health education.
As a fundraiser for Wakatipu Plunket branch, volunteers are being sought to assist with the annual Garden Tour taking place on Sunday 5th December 2021. This enables members of the public to view and enjoy local gardens of interest. All proceeds go to maintain Plunket services in the Wakatipu basin.
Volunteers will be required to greet customers at the gardens and ensure everyone signs in on arrival.
Volunteers should gain enjoyment in volunteering in a beautiful setting and satisfaction knowing your time has helped raise funds for the local Plunket group. As a volunteer you will receive a free ticket for the other half of the day to enjoy the gardens and Devonshire tea at Lake Hayes Pavilion.
Volunteers should be 16 and over, be well presented, have good communication skills and have an appreciation of good health and safety practices. No garden knowledge is needed - just a friendly smile and a hello!
They will be holding a volunteer information evening on Tuesday 30th November, 6.30pm @ Queenstown Plunket Room , where you will receive all your instructions and your free ticket to the tour.
Volunteer shifts are split into the morning and afternoon: 9.45am-12.45pm or 12.30pm-3.30pm.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
