The Upper Clutha Hospice Trust is a community group who have developed a palliative and respite facility in Wanaka. Through managing an Op Shop and Warehouse, they raise funds for the local hospice facilities based at Aspiring Enliven which is an aged healthcare facility with Hospice Beds. 

The Upper Clutha Hospice Trust manages an Op Shop in Central Wanaka in addition to a Warehouse at Gordon Road. Volunteers are required to assist with a range of roles, including: 

  • Sorting clothes and donated item at the warehouse
  • Lifting 5 kg boxes if required at the warehouse or shop
  • Tidy and dusting at shop
  • Operating cash register and Eftpos machine
  • Welcoming and assisting customers
  • Sorting and tiding donated items within the shop

We hope that volunteers will enjoy being part of this friendly team and contributing to raising funds for the hospice facility. Additional skills gained include: 

Operating cash register and Eftpos machine
Gain experience in a retail and warehouse environment
*Gain customer service skills

Requirements

Volunteers should be friendly, organised and trustworthy.  To be able to follow instructions and enjoy keeping the shop floor tidy and looking fabulous.  

Time commitment

The shop is open Monday to Saturday and ideally volunteers are required to help for one shift a week, timings are flexible.  Volunteers are required for a minimum of three months.
