Street Appeal Fundraisers

Heart Kids is here to help families at every step of their heart journey – from when a heart condition is first diagnosed, through childhood, the teenage years and into adulthood. Heart Kids Central Otago's over-riding objective is to provide life-long support to all those affected by a congenital heart defect or heart condition acquired during childhood.

As Central Otago is a large, geographically and medically isolated area and we are aiming for easier access to a range of Heart Kids services for all Central Otago families. To achieve this we are working hard to build positive relationships with Heart Kids members, their families along with other branches of Heart Kids. The family support team is pivotal in educating our community as well as helping ensure that no one travels this journey alone.

Heart Kids CO hold their annual street appeal each June and are seeking volunteers to collect donations from the public in Alexandra, Cromwell, Queenstown and Wanaka.

The committee member allocated with the collection point will have everything ready for volunteers and will also be contactable by phone if required.

Volunteers, we hope, will gain satisfaction from raising funds for the organisation and enjoy chatting to members of the public who are donating.

Volunteers should be honest, reliable, polite & friendly with a warm smile. Sound maths skills to give change when raffle tickets have been bought would be useful.

Time commitment

Dates will be confirmed nearer the time and a rosta will be completed so a few hours help will be much appreciated but whatever you can offer will be very welcome!
