Community Store Assistant - (Dunedin)

St John’s mission is to prevent and relieve sickness and injury, and to act to enhance health and well-being of people of all races and creeds anywhere in New Zealand.

St John is a charitable organisation with a volunteer ethos. It operates independently of Government and business, and serves communities throughout New Zealand by delivering an extensive range of services and products in the health and health-related fields.

They are currently looking for volunteers to support the day-today running of the shop in Dunedin, including helping with deliveries, sorting, and cleaning of goods.

Requirements

Volunteers should be friendly and reliable with:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Be a team player
  • Retail experience or customer service experience desirable

Full training and ongoing support will be provided as well as uniform.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

The shop is open Monday to Saturday, mornings and afternoons and we welcome volunteers who are happy to slot into a roster to ensure the shop is open to the public.
