Age Concern Queenstown provides support, information, education and advocacy for people living in the Wakatipu basin who are 65 years and older.

A volunteer with their own car is needed to transport an elderly gentleman to weekly volunteering sessions at the Wakatipu Reforestation Plant Nursery in Kelvin Heights. The person can either stay and volunteer themselves or make the most of nearby amenities (golf course, cafe, playgrounds, cycle path/walkway, dog friendly park, croquet club, tennis court, sailing club).

Requirements

Volunteers with a vehicle and clean driver's licence, WOF, registration and insurance. Friendly and caring demeanor who is able to relate well to older people with a good grasp of English.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

About 3 hours per week on Wednesday mornings only.
