Presbyterian Support Otago works for a fair, just and caring community. Motivated by their Christian heritage, and in partnership with others, PSO works across the generations for positive change, strong families and healthy communities. In fulfilling their mission, they endeavour to act with Faith, Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Independence.
Social engagement and meaningful activity are essential to a healthy, happy life, no matter what your age.
Volunteers are required for visiting an older person in the community to build rapport and friendship. Also to maintain the persons contact with the wider community and to help prevent social isolation. The volunteer may visit to chat, share in an interest or hobby, or take them out for a coffee/drive.
Club Enliven St Andrew's is also looking for people to help escorting residents to and from appointments.
Volunteers will gain a sense of satisfaction knowing they are enhancing the life of an older person.
Volunteers interested must:
1-2 hours per week
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
