Social engagement and meaningful activity are essential to a healthy, happy life, no matter what your age.

Volunteers are required for visiting an older person in the community to build rapport and friendship. Also to maintain the persons contact with the wider community and to help prevent social isolation.  The volunteer may visit to chat, share in an interest or hobby, or take them out for a coffee/drive.

Club Enliven St Andrew's is also looking for people to help escorting residents to and from appointments.

Volunteers will gain a sense of satisfaction knowing they are enhancing the life of an older person.


Volunteers interested must:

  • Have a genuine interest in and respect for older people
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Be a good listener
  • Have patience and compassion
  • Have a sense of humour

A Police background check is required for this role.

1-2 hours per week
