The Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust (DFAT) is the governing body for a range of creative arts programming in Ōtepoti/Dunedin, including the Dunedin Fringe Festival, Amped Music Project, New Zealand Young Writers Festival, performing arts venue Te Whare o Rukutia, the White Box Gallery and the Dunedin Community Gallery (on behalf of the DCC).

Can you commit a few hours per month to support the Trust’s kaupapa? They are looking for people to support their governance needs.

They are in particular looking for:

  • People with mātauranga Māori knowledge and expertise
  • Alumni of our core programmes: Dunedin Fringe Festival, NZ Young Writers Festival and the Amped Music Project
  • Members of local Pacific communities
  • People with lived experience of disability
  • Active members of the Ōtepoti/Dunedin creative arts sector
  • People with community development experience (including fundraising)
  • People with leadership or governance skills (with the aim to possibly take on the Trust’s Chairperson role over time)

Training provided:

  • You will receive an organisational orientation
  • Ongoing input from other trustees

Requirements

  • Able to attend monthly governance meetings (1 - 1.5 hours long)
  • Attendance of Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust events relating to their core programming
  • Occasional strategic meetings (1-2 annually)
  • Willingness to help with fundraising efforts when appropriate

Time commitment

  • Flexible: The time commitment averages out to 1-3 hours per month
