The Waitaki Community Recreation Centre was opened in 1987 as a joint venture between the Waitaki District Council, Waitaki Girls High School, and the wider Waitaki community. Today it is governed by the WCRC Trust (which includes representatives from all above parties).
The recreation centre offers a range of activities for the community members including - group fitness classes, weight training and is available for clubs and groups who regularly use the centre for activities including; rock wall, taekwondo, basketball, tai chi, indoor soccer, netball and volleyball.
What you will do:
Volunteers can be sure that they are helping to further promote the awareness of a key organisation and recreational facility in the community, one that facilitates health and wellbeing.
Short-term project, unsure of time commitment, however am guessing it may only take one 1 hour session and maybe a brief follow-up
