The Major Incident Support team (MIST) is looking for non-clinical people to deploy and assist the wider Operations and Event Health Services teams throughout the country at both planned and unplanned major events/incidents. This initiative is to ensure that St John | Hato Hone is providing a world leading response to major incidents and large events.
As a MIST member your role will be to support the Operations Team in times of crisis and high workload.
Some of your key tasks may include (but are not limited) to the following:
Ensuring all operations vehicles and equipment and Major Incident equipment are maintained to a state of operational readiness
Relocating vehicles
Responding to Major incident and filling the CIMS 'Logistics' & 'Welfare' roles
Establishing the Scene Command Point and any ICP / EOC Duties
Provide communications and logistical support at significant events.
Their ideal candidates:
A Police background check is required for this role.
1 training a month and 3-5 callouts/training exercises a year.
Initially there are 3 courses to get onboarded comprising of about 36 hours of classroom/training and sign off. This happens over about 3 months.
