The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark hosts a monthly public talk series every third Thursday of the month. A wide range of experts and speakers are invited to share their knowledge with the Waitaki community. We need volunteers to help with the promotion of these events and support on the day. Tasks include:
• (Optional) Graphic design of promotional material
• Distributing promotional material
• Help to set up and tidy up afterwards
• Welcoming the audience to the event
This is your opportunity to be involved in the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark and the community. Each talk offers something new and interesting.
• Great communication skills
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Ability to use your initiative
• An interest in and passion for promoting the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark positively in the community
Ideally a volunteer would be available for 1-2 hours/month to distribute poster and for about 2 hours at as many of the public talks as possible for 2022. The public talks are every third Thursday of the month (except December & January due to holiday season). There will be two talks in Ōamaru, and eight talks across the district (Kakanui, Hampden, Moeraki, Palmerston, Duntroon, Kurow, Otematata, Ōmārama)
