Marketing Guru with The Kiwi Kit

The Kiwi Kit Community Trust are a startup organisation with a team of individuals who have an immense passion for what they do - helping people move to New Zealand and supporting them when they arrive. There are two parts to the organisation - the business arm bringing people to the country and the charitable trust arm supporting them on arrival and helping them connect to their new community.

They are looking for a fun, energetic person with marketing experience who would love to help build up our brand’s marketing from scratch! The volunteer aspect sits within the charitable trust arm.

The ideal volunteer may have skills and knowledge around social media marketing, SEO, and brand management, but can also be trained in any or all of these topics:

  • Creating content for the social media accounts
  • Writing regular blog posts for the website
  • Managing the social media accounts
  • Engaging with potential clients through social media
  • Incorporating and improving SEO practices throughout the organisation
  • Assisting in developing the brand’s look and feel and ensuring that spans across the organisation
  • Supporting the Media Emperor (Manager) on projects such as promo videos, videos for social media content, and website content
  • Bringing great energy to the team :)

The existing team work together on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays every week and are aiming to launch in the next few months. Your assistance with marketing our launches will be imperative and we welcome and encourage you to get involved as much as your time allows. If all goes well, this could turn into a paid role!

They have fun together, laugh a lot, adventure often, and love a good happy hour during their work sessions on Fridays. You are welcome to volunteer from home or with us wherever we are. As a startup, they meet at each other's homes or at cafes throughout the week. They are working on getting seed funding to get an office space soon!

Volunteer contributions to this team will be highly appreciated!

From your involvement, you'll be able to learn new skills whilst collaborating with an exciting, innovative team working in a new space in Wakatipu.


Experience in some or all of the following: marketing, social media management, branding, SEO, and strategy or at least a keen willingness to learn would be great, but is not essential. The ideal volunteer will be a great writer to help with blog posts, social media posts, and other copy. Someone who has a great attitude, a passion for adventure, is creatively minded, and is willing to work amongst a team of motivated volunteers will be perfect for this role!

Time commitment

Between 10-20 hours per week would be great, but if you are interested in the role and have some time and energy to offer we'd love to hear from you!
