Daffodil Day fresh flower pre-sales Invercargill 2021

Cancer Society Otago - Southland

Working Hours

Daffodil Day is the Cancer Society's most important annual fundraiser. They are currently looking for a team of enthusiastic volunteers to sell fresh daffodils to businesses prior to the day as part of their pre-sales campaign. This involves visiting businesses within a designated area to take orders for bunches of Daffodils which are then delivered during the week of Daffodil Day.

They are looking for polite and friendly volunteers who are confident in approaching businesses to purchase daffodils and manage responses (this is rarely cold-calling as many businesses will be expecting you).

Volunteers should be organised and able to accurately and clearly record data. As these positions require quite an amount of walking and some climbing of stairs applicants would need to be reasonably fit.

A training session will be provided and ongoing support from Cancer Society staff will be available. We hope that volunteers will enjoy being part of the fundraising team, meeting new people and raising essential funds for the Cancer Society.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

This can range from 2-5 hours depending on the area you are canvassing, some businesses will require a second visit
