Pink Ribbon Street Appeal Area Coordinator - Otago & Southland

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ's mission is to prevent New Zealanders developing and dying of breast cancer and to support patients. They do this through raising awareness for early detection; funding medical research, training and equipment; supporting patients with their helpline, counselling and rehabilitation; and advocating to the government for world-class treatments and care.

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ are seeking fantastic Area Coordinators for your town/suburb for their Pink Ribbon Street Appeal! As an Area Coordinator, you will oversee multiple sites within your town and manage a team of volunteers to collect funds for BCFNZ on Friday 29th and/or Saturday 30th October 2021.

In Central Otago, they are seeking coordinators for Central Queenstown and Ranfurly. Within Dunedin, they are seeking coordinators for the following areas: Dowling/Princess Street, Dunedin Central, Otago University, Port Chalmers and Dunedin South. Over the appeal weekend you will distribute stock to your volunteers, troubleshoot any issues (should they arise) and bank the funds donated in your area. BCFNZ provide you with everything you will need for the role, including a detailed brief, access to a volunteer roster system, plenty of (pink!) stock, collection permits and banking materials.

Through this role you will gain an understanding on the importance of the services BCFNZ provide the community and experience in people and time management, banking and knowing you are contributing this life changing cause.

Requirements

• Enthusiasm and passion for the BCFNZ cause
• Great communication skills
• Driver’s licence and access to a car

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

You will be needed approximately 8am to 6pm on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th October with additional hours in the lead-up to the appeal.
