Assisting staff to transfer residents, in wheelchairs and lounge chairs, from their living areas to and from events within the facility. Assisting with the service of afternoon tea. Socialising, interacting, having a chat and laugh with elderly residents in an aged care facility.

Requirements

The only requirement is that you must be fit enough to push someone in a wheelchair.

As you will be stepping into the 'Home' of elderly people we take great care in who our volunteers are.
Having good communication is essential
Be punctual and reliable
Have a good sense of humour
Be honest
Friendly and empathetic to aged care
Common sense
Physically capable to transfer residents, in wheelchairs and lounge chairs, from their living areas to and from events within the facility.
Volunteers should have a natural interest in older people, have patience, a caring and respectful attitude and be happy working as part of a team.
A Police background check is required for this role.

Tuesday afternoons 1.30 – 3.30pm
