South Alive Housing Action Team member

South Alive is a community led organisation which is focused on the revitilisation of South Invercargill.
South Alive's mission statement is : Empowered by our Strengths as a community, we will build a place to live and work that engenders pride and inspires us.
The Housing Team projects include:

  • Random Recognition Awards: selecting properties where the resident has shown pride in their property and presenting them with a card and voucher
  • Alternative Housing Seminars: running seminars (usually once a month) on a different topic related to housing. Previous seminars have covered transportable homes, tiny homes, urban gardening, straw bale homes and modern village living
  • Partnering with NZ Fire and Emergency to run projects building awareness of fire safety in homes
  • regular sausage sizzles to raise funds for the projects delivered by the housing team.

The Housing Team is looking for someone with an interest in housing issues/topics, and the South Invercargill area.
You must be reliable, and able to work well as part of a team.

Time commitment

Monthly team meetings on Thursday evenings (5.30pm - 6.30pm)
Events as required - a few hours each month
Sausage sizzles on a weekend - 4 times a year
