The NZ Young Writers Festival is four days of completely free events running from Thursday October 28th until Sunday October 31st.

As a volunteer you can be involved in a range of ways. We have the following roles on offer and you can undertake as many roles as you like! No experience is required.

Event Support

  • between Oct 28th and Oct 31st
  • selling books
  • supporting guests to scan in with the covid app
  • cleaning surfaces
  • light set up/ pack down duties

Distribution

  • pre festival between Sept 23rd and Oct 27th
  • distributing programs and posters in the central city and surrounds

Pack in/out

  • Oct 27th, 28th and 31st
  • ability to lift medium heavy objects and undertake physical work
  • supporting the festival team to pack in and out of the venue
  • hanging art pieces, making things look beautiful, creating the vibe of the festival!

Requirements

No requirements beyond an open mind and a kind heart!

Time commitment

Flexible- you can volunteer as much or as little as you like.

We would ideally like a commitment of approximately 10hrs over 4 weeks but if this does not suit you but you would still like to be involved please get in touch.
