Events Assistant


Youthline Southland







Youthlines work is community focussed and aims to nurture mental wellness in young people and to prevent and reduce the occurrences and community harms of suicide. We serve the Southland area including Invercargill and rural Southland. Though one of Youthline's smaller centres, our passion for supporting rangatahi, providing eductation and promoting healthy mental wellbeing is massive and we are dedicated to our important work saving lives.

All persons intending to become volunteer helpline counsellors will be required to fill in an application form, reference check, interview and complete a comprehensive training programme that runs for a number of weekends and helps give our volunteers a range of skills suitable for the role.

Some of the duties as an events specialist are:

  • Understand requirements for each event.
  • Support when running programs/events at schools.
  • Planning event details and overall aspects.
  • Managing programs/events and addressing potential problems that may arise.
  • Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.

Time commitment

Hours will be required according to program / events planning that may happen between 1 to 3 times per month.
Further hours would be discussed in advance.
