New Zealand Red Cross mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and enhancing community resilience. The Red Cross Fundamental Principles guide all that they do, whether they're helping people in New Zealand communities or providing urgent relief in an International disaster.

The Invercargill Team are looking for 1 or 2 people to help sort donated homeware and make homeware packs up for incoming former refugee families. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of others especially former refugee families arriving in N.Z. The packs contain the essentials for setting up a new home - and contain a mix of new and donated items.

Hours are flexible, there will be a bit of sorted and getting things in order, which may take a few hours, then we would expect this to be an hour or two a week.

The shed we store goods on is located at our office 242 Dee St.

Requirements

Police Check and volunteer agreement.
Willingness to help
Ability to move a few boxes - and sort donated material.
The ability to make decisions around donations - keep it or not.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Flexible hours and commitment level. However sorting of bedding would need to be done during normal retail hours as this done at our shop in Yarrow St
