Music and Dance Workshop Relief Team

StarJam is a fun, creative and positive not-for-profit that is changing the way New Zealanders view disability by helping young people with disabilities unleash their potential through musical performance. We believe anything is possible and our weekly music-based workshops support Jammers (young people living with any disability aged 6 – 25) to discover their unique talents, in their own way and time.

We have 4 workshops across the region all held on weeknights from 6.30 – 8.00pm. There is no musical ability required- just the right attitude! StarJam Volunteers:

  • Form meaningful connections with Jammers – encourage and inspire them.
  • Are led by a music or dance tutor in a team that supports up to 12 Jammers.
  • Help with set up, pack down and other necessary tasks
  • Are provided thorough training, support and ongoing mentoring
  • Are invited to support at our special events such as Disco's, Performances and our Annual Show

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

All of our workshops are held on weeknights from 6.30 – 8.00pm. We are looking for volunteers to join our relief team. Relief volunteers will be offered spaces in our evening workshops on a casual basis as required. You choose how often you are available to Jam with us!
