PSO's three Op Shops (Shop On Carroll, Shop On St Andrew, and Shop On Carroll Online) have now merged to become one retail destination (located on 169 Princes Street - between Rattray and Dowling Streets). These changes aren’t simply about location, it’s about taking sustainability and upcycling to the next level while raising funds for PSOs Family Works and Food Bank services.

Shop on Carroll is renowned for its quality recycled clothing, jewellery, crockery, cutlery and haberdashery, providing something special for everyone and every budget.

As a Warehouse Assistant you will:

  • Work at the back of the Op Shop, in the busy warehouse where donations are prepared and priced for sale
  • Store items by season and theme
  • Help sort, price and display a vast range of retro, vintage, pre-loved, designer and contemporary items
  • Be helping to provide something special for everyone and every budget
  • Be non-customer facing (this is a back of the shop role)
  • Repair and organise a vast range of donations
  • Be working in a fast-paced and fun environment with others

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Physical requirements: the role may involve standing, walking, bending, sitting, climbing stairs, simple grasping, fine manipulation, lifting, overhead reaching, carrying, pushing/pulling trolleys
  • A sense of humour will do you well in this role
  • Someone who enjoys sorting, has good attention to detail
  • All volunteers will be interviewed
  • Police vetting and reference checks will be carried out

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

How much time have you got?

  • Commit to as little as 2 - 4hrs per week or fortnight
  • Volunteer from as little as one shift a week - to as many as you like
    (If you have more time to give, they would jump for joy!)
