Wednesday Planting Community Working Bee

The Halo Project- Source to Sea

Working Hours

The Halo Project, in partnership with DOC, are currently working with the community to plant 38,400 native seedlings in 9.4ha of DOC reserve at Long Beach.

These plants will provide food and shelter for native wildlife and become a source of native seeds. The plants will also absorb and filter runoff and improve water quality. A new 1.2km looped walking track will be a great addition for walkers to appreciate this incredible landscape and its biodiversity.

Please bring a drink, lunch, warm clothes and wear sturdy footwear. If you have a spade, gardening gloves or mallet, please bring these too. Low fitness is required and all ages welcome.

Time commitment

Please come and join us for planting every Wednesday from 10am – 3pm. Please get in touch if weather is looking wet and cold as the day may be postponed.
Thursday is a back-up wet weather day.
