Vege Garden at the Dunedin Night Shelter

Dunedin Night Shelter Trust

Working Hours

The Night Shelter provides emergency accommodation for Dunedin’s most vulnerable citizens.

The Night Shelter has a medium sized garden plus a raised plot and other spaces in which we grow vegetables.
It is great being able to feed our guests with fresh food grown onsite. It is also a huge saving in money and precious donations.
This could be done by an individual who has a bit of time on their hands, but also by sharing the load in a coordinated way with others.

A bit of a green thumb helps. Some knowledge of what to plant and when.
We have most tools required on site.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

2-3 hours a week during the growing season.
Less if this was shared.
