Relay For Life is an inspiring community experience that gives everyone a chance to celebrate/whakanui cancer survivors and carers; remember/maumaharatia loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back/tū atu by raising awareness and funds to support the work of the Cancer Society.
Relay For Life volunteers are essential to the success of Relay for Life and we have a number of opportunities available, whether you have a little or a lot of time to give. Roles for volunteers include:

Putting together a large scale event and witnessing the impact on the community is an incredibly meaningful experience for every single person involved, it's a great opportunity to give back! On the event day, volunteers will be taken care of with refreshments and other goodies to recognise their hard work and accomplishment.
You will work closely with the local Cancer Society staff, event committee members and other volunteers. Training and orientation will be provided, as well as ongoing support from the events coordinator. Previous event experience a bonus, but not required. You'll need to be able to work in a team and happy to follow directions.
Event begins at 2pm until 9pm. Set up begins at 10am. Times vary (volunteer shifts range from 1 hour to several hours depending on the role).
