Chairperson or Co-Chair | Wakatipu Toy Library

The Wakatipu Toy Library is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing affordable access to high-quality toys, puzzles, games, and costumes for families in the Wakatipu region. With a focus on learning through play and sustainability, the library aims to foster creativity, reduce waste and support the community.

They are currently looking to fill a leadership position, which can be a shared role to fit in with your availability.

As Chairperson/Co-Chair you would:

  • provide governance and leadership
  • oversee key activities
  • ensure the library’s mission is upheld.

Responsibilities include

  • guiding decision-making
  • supporting staff and volunteers
  • representing the library in the community
  • collaborating with external stakeholders

You will be inducted into the role by existing members and support will be available as needed.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative and able to work with diverse groups
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Basic understanding of governance and strategic planning

Time commitment

The Chairperson/Co-Chair role requires an approximate commitment of 5 hours per month. This includes attending a monthly or bi-monthly committee meeting, which can be held either in person or digitally, depending on availability.
