Committee Member | Wakatipu Toy Library

The Wakatipu Toy Library is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing affordable access to high-quality toys, puzzles, games, and costumes for families in the Wakatipu region. With a focus on learning through play and sustainability, the library aims to foster creativity, reduce waste and support the community.

They are looking to recruit new Committee Members to join the current group, and bring fresh skills and perspective!

As a Committee Member, you would be helping with initiatives that support the library’s mission and ensuring its ongoing growth. You could focus on key areas such as:

  • social media
  • secretarial responsibilities
  • fundraising
  • events
  • community engagement

They are currently keen to hear from those wishing to contribute to social media or secretarial duties, but encourage anyone with a passion for the cause to express interest.

All of the above tasks play a huge part in contributing to the library's success and its impact on the local community. As a committee member, you will gain valuable experience in non-profit operations, project management, and community engagement, while making a meaningful contribution to a community-driven organisation that benefits families and children, and the environment as well!

Requirements

  • Passionate about making a positive impact on families and children
  • Collaborative, with a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Creative, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Able to contribute innovative ideas and actively support library initiatives

Time commitment

The role requires up to 4 hours per month. This includes contributing to specific focus areas such as social media, fundraising, events, or community engagement, as well as attending a monthly or bi-monthly committee meeting, which can be held either in person or digitally.
