Lina Lastra is an experienced public sector and community engagement leader based in Ōtepoti Dunedin. Currently working as an Engagement Specialist for the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, Lina brings over a decade of experience partnering with diverse groups, public agencies, and sector leaders across the lower South Island.
She offers strong governance experience within the community sector, having served as Vice-President of the Dunedin Multi-Ethnic Council and Co-Founder/President of the Otago Hispanic Group, where she directed strategic planning, financial oversight, and funding decisions. Lina is also a founding member of the Dunedin Refugee Steering Group, and her community volunteer background includes former involvement with Rotary and serving as an, Inspiring the Future, role model.
Holding a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business and qualifications in Intercultural Communication, Lina combines deep cultural competency with a strong understanding of public funding, risk management, and accountability.
