GirlGuiding NZ is a non-profit organisation where girls can be girls. GirlGuiding NZ offers a non-competitive learning environment that is open-minded and values-based. It’s also a supportive place to grow confident, adventurous girls who are ready to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Currently, they are looking for Leaders for their Pippins, Brownies, Guides, and Ranger Units (aged 5-17 years) across Dunedin:

  • Helping to fulfil GGNZ's mission to empower girls to take action and change their world
  • Using fun, adventure, and friendship to build girls' confidence and life skills
  • GirlGuiding NZ's health and safety policy also has requirements around adult-to-child ratios

As a Volunteer Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspiring and encouraging tamariki to reach their potential and try new things.
  • Being hands-on, enthusiastic, and patient.
  • Joining a supportive team and be part of a worldwide movement.
  • Committing to weekly unit meetings during school terms, plus planning and occasional weekend events.

What's involved?

  • Help plan and deliver engaging activities for girls.
  • Participate in occasional training sessions (evenings or weekends).
  • Attend occasional planning meetings, camps, trips, and special events.

  • A chance to make lifelong friendships and a lasting impact.
  • The opportunity to meet new people and become part of a worldwide network.

When you apply, they will find your preferred location, age group, and section that best match your skills, interests, availability, and their local units' needs.
