Become a GirlGuiding Local Coordinator – Leader of Volunteer Adults to join their already outstanding volunteer team. This is your opportunity to join a well-established, long-standing organisation with huge growth potential!

They’re looking for proactive and friendly Local Coordinators to support our local GirlGuiding community. You’ll act as the key link between units, leaders, and the wider national organisation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys coordinating, problem-solving, and helping volunteers thrive. Coordinators are needed for Dunedin, Invercargill, and Central Otago-Lakes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for local units and leaders.
  • Support and encourage leaders in their roles.
  • Help organise local events and activities.
  • Facilitate clear communication between units and GirlGuiding NZ.
  • Monitor and share updates about local unit activity and needs.

GirlGuiding NZ provide free training, which all volunteers complete as part of our programme, along with free First Aid courses and outdoor skills training offered periodically.

There is no monetary cost to you to become a volunteer leader. Resources and equipment are supplied by GirlGuiding NZ.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Friendly, approachable, and supportive.
  • Enjoy working with volunteers and young people.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and follow through on commitments.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Average of 1-3 hours a week - ongoing commitment
