As a CanShop Retail Assistant you will be:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day functioning of the CanShop retail store
  • Assisting and serve customers, providing a high level of customer service
  • Sorting and display donated goods
  • Keeping the shop clean and tidy
  • Handling cash and using EFTPOS
  • Maintaining professional integrity at all times, with a positive attitude
  • Complying with the relevant policies and procedures of the Cancer Society while on duty

Training and skills:

  • Full Customer Service cash-handling and eftpos training provided by staff

Requirements

  • Reliable, punctual, friendly and approachable
  • Full training provided so previous retail experience advantageous but not necessary
  • Have a flair for retail
  • Ability to work comfortably with people of all social, religious and cultural backgrounds
  • Computer literacy
  • Neat and tidy appearance

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • By negotiation, usually x1 four hour shift per week
  • Ideally 12 months minimum commitment (contact to discuss)
    (Shop Hours are 10-4 Mon-Fri and 11-3 Saturday)
