The Wakatipu Toy Library is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing affordable access to a wide range of high-quality toys, puzzles, games, and costumes for families in the Wakatipu region. With a focus on learning through play, sustainability, and community support, the library aims to foster creativity, reduce waste, and offer an inclusive resource for local families.
The Toy Library is located in the portacom by the netball courts at the Queenstown Events Centre. They are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the team as Facilitators
As a Facilitator you will:
- Work alongside the librarian
- Assist with toy collection, maintenance, and organisation
- Engage with members - help them select items, and ensure a positive experience
- Help maintain inventory and ensure toys are in good condition
- Assist members by taking toys out to their vehicles
You will be given training and induction into the role and all processes as required.

Requirements
Ideally you are someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting families, children, and sustainability
- Friendly and approachable, with strong communication skills
- Collaborative, with a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with a focus on maintaining an organised and welcoming space
- Able to assist with the physical tasks of taking toys out to members’ vehicles
- Reliable and committed to helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for members
- Willing to contribute ideas and support the library’s day-to-day operation
Time commitment
Ideally, you can support one of the following days once a fortnight, with the option to contribute more often as per your availability.
- Tuesdays: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Thursdays: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sundays: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
