Fine Thyme Theatre Company is an enthusiastic group that welcomes anyone wanting to be involved on stage or off-stage. They offer musicals, dramas, comedies, workshops and even have our own singing group.

Their upcoming show is scheduled for 30 September - 3rd October 2026. Set during the brutal Otago gold rush of 1862, Rush the Musical Cromwell 2026 follows two families chasing a better life—only to be met with tragedy, injustice, and betrayal. As dreams of fortune unravel, the story centres on resilience, with the women left behind finding strength, justice, and hope amid loss.

Volunteering with Fine Thyme Theatre is a brilliant way to have fun, build confidence, and be part of something creative and meaningful. Whether you're helping backstage, working front of house, or supporting rehearsals, you'll gain valuable skills while making new friends and contributing to your community.

There are a variety of roles available:
Front of House - Hosts of the show, ensuring that the audience has a safe, relaxed, and pleasant experience. Duties might include meet and greet, ushering to seats, handing out programmes, selling of raffles tickets and assisting with general enquiries and some cleaning.
Props - Assist the HOD with the props required for each character/scene and source/create those props.
Hair & Makeup - Assist the HOD on the show dates to help create looks for each character and ensure that these looks are brought to life. Instruction/training before the show will be given to those keen. Some experience even small would be an advantage.
Marketing - Assist with ensuring the show is promoted professionally and in a cohesive way to generate ticket sales, create a buzz, profile the cast, and support/thank sponsors.
Sponsorship - Working with the HOD to ensure all contacts are up to date, logos collected, assist with sourcing sponsorship from local businesses and the community and all marketing material required for the show is collected/at the venue and then returned.
