KiwiHarvest is a great food rescue charity. They see themselves as a simple solution to two problems - food waste and food insecurity. They do this by simply redistributing excess food away from landfill to local charities running food support programs that are helping people in their time of need.
Come along and Join the team!

Individual or teams of two needed:

  • Every 2nd Friday for 1.5 hours approximately 10-11:30am (start time in morning can be flexible)
  • Must be happy to use own vehicle and have room for 4- 6 banana boxes on average.
  • Training run on the route will be completed with new driver volunteers.
  • Need to independently coordinate with the other team of two covering the alternate same weekly shift to see if they can cover you if you are sick or away etc. for your scheduled collection before contacting management to cancel.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable using own vehicle and have enough boot room to handle on average 4 to 6 banana boxes.
  • Comfortable lifting boxes and crates of food ranging from 5kg to 20kg.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Time commitment

  • Needing long term locals who can commit to one roughly 1.5 hour shift around the CBD every second Friday from approximately 10am to 11:30am
  • Need to be able to independently coordinate with the other team of two covering the alternate same weekly shift to see if they can cover you if you are sick or away etc. for your scheduled collection before contacting management to cancel.
