Iona Care Home has provided high-quality residential care for older people in North Otago for over 60 years. Residents enjoy a range of activities in beautifully maintained park-like grounds, including views from the lounges and time with visiting friends and family.

Iona is looking for pianists to join the roster for their weekly Community Sing on Wednesday mornings from 11am–12pm. Volunteers will play piano for residents, either leading singalongs or performing pieces of their choice. Currently, there are four pianists on a monthly roster, and the home would love to add a couple more to share the joy of music. Staff are always present to support volunteers and residents.

  • Comfortable playing piano to a group
  • Friendly, caring, and respectful
  • Good communicator with a sense of humour
  • Willing to complete a Police Check and sign a Code of Conduct

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Play piano for the weekly Community Sing every Wednesday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Volunteers can be added to the monthly roster, sharing the commitment with other pianists.
