ReStore Housekeeping Assistant

At Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Glengarry, Invercargill, they help local families into safe, affordable housing by selling donated goods to raise funds for building homes in our community.

As a ReStore Housekeeping Assistant, you will help maintain clean, tidy, and well-stocked bathroom facilities through light cleaning, restocking supplies, and ensuring shared spaces are well-presented.

In return, volunteers gain a valued role in a supportive team, flexible volunteering hours, and the satisfaction of contributing to a well-run community space that supports meaningful housing projects.

Requirements

• Reliable, respectful, and willing to take responsibility for maintaining clean shared spaces
• Comfortable carrying out light cleaning and restocking tasks
• Good attention to detail and a tidy, thorough approach to work
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• No formal experience required — just a positive attitude and willingness to help

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

• Flexible weekly shifts are available to suit your availability. This role is ideally completed on a weekly basis, with times arranged to fit into your schedule.
• They are happy to be flexible where possible, and even a short regular commitment each week makes a valuable difference.
• The Glengarry ReStore is open six days per week. Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.00pm; Saturday - 10.00am to 4.00pm
