The North Otago Toy Library is a non-profit organization run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Because children learn best through play, their mission is to provide local families with affordable access to a wide range of educational toys. Toy sharing keeps playtime fresh, saves families money, and promotes environmental sustainability. Operating similarly to a public book library, their membership includes local families, casual users, and grandparents
They are currently seeking new committee members to step into key roles, including President, Grants Officer, Fundraiser, or simply to contribute fresh ideas. You will be well-supported by their friendly committee — including their active Secretary and Treasurer — who are a welcoming team of young mums.
President Role: Serves as the principal coordinator with overall responsibility for running the toy library smoothly through effective administration, ensuring the organization pursues its core mission and allocates resources responsibly.
Grants Officer Role: Researches and applies for grant opportunities while managing application processes and accountability reporting.
Joining the committee is a fantastic way to build relationships, connect with other local families, and give back to your community. No prior experience is necessary — just a willingness to learn and an eye for detail!
