Join our Invercargill Curtain Bank team!
Our curtain bank volunteers use their skills to help people living in cold houses, by relining and up-cycling old curtains.
Our curtain bank coordinators support the day-to-day operation of our curtain banks by coordinating volunteers, managing workflow, and helping ensure curtains are collected, prepared, and distributed efficiently to people living in cold houses.
The coordinator plays an important role in creating a positive volunteer environment and supporting the smooth running of curtain bank activities within their local community.
Role Description
Coordinating day-to-day curtain bank activities.
Supporting and organising volunteers during curtain bank sessions.
Assisting with sorting, measuring, and distributing curtains when needed.
Liaising with New Zealand Red Cross employees and community partners.
Helping maintain a safe, organised, and positive working environment.
Assisting with volunteer onboarding and basic administration.
Volunteer requirements and training:
Good communication and organisational skills
Enjoy supporting and coordinating volunteers in a positive and inclusive environment.
Sewing knowledge is helpful but not essential, as there are a variety of tasks involved in the role.
This role would suit someone with experience in administration, coordination or community work who enjoys working with people and helping a team succeed.
Training and ongoing support will be provided by New Zealand Red Cross employees and volunteers.
