"Where the stories we share become a world of opportunity"
At Inspiring the Future events, people from the community share their stories – what jobs they do, how they got there and challenges faced along the way.
It’s an important programme that helps to broaden young people’s horizons and challenge stereotypes formed at a young age that can limit their potential.
No matter what your role is or how you got there, you can be a role model to tamariki. We need people from all walks of life to volunteer so young people can see the world of opportunity that awaits them.
When you sign up, you’ll be asked to complete an online profile and a criminal record check form.
Your profile will be visible to schools on our website after the criminal record check. Teachers can then read your profile and invite you to participate in events.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
You can accept or decline as many event invitations as you wish based on your availability.
Events last 4-5 hours. You should allow time to travel to and from the event and up to 1 hour for preparation.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
