New Zealand Red Cross mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and enhancing community resilience. The Red Cross Fundamental Principles guide all that they do, whether they're helping people in New Zealand communities or providing urgent relief in an International disaster.
The Invercargill Team are looking for 1 or 2 people to help service and prepare donated bikes. The bikes will then be rebuilt and given to former refugees arriving in the city. These bikes will make a huge impact on the families ability to get around town due to limited bus services and families who do not having cars or driving licence's. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of others especially former refugee families arriving in N.Z.
Red Cross would ideally love to be able to drop off the bike frames to you and pick them up at a later stage. This work can be done in your own home if you had the appropriate tools and so wished or there is a Red Cross tool/workshop area that can be utilised, you are also able to use tool/workshop area this for personal use. Come and join us and be part of a team working together to support families arriving into Invercargill.
