Treasurer for Baby Loss Support Charity

Still Mums is a not for profit organisation offering support to families who have experienced the loss of a baby. They provide ongoing support after baby loss, helping to nurture emotional and physical well-being during the postpartum period and beyond. This includes lovingly curated care packages, supportive resources, peer connection, and community initiatives. Still Mums exists to support families not only in the immediate moments of loss, but in the days and weeks that follow – a time that can often feel overwhelming and unsupported.

As the Treasurer for Still Mums your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial statements, annual budgets, and reviewing financial performance (profit and loss/balance sheets).
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax regulations (GST, payroll) and Charities Services requirements, including preparation for audits.
  • Cash Management: Managing bank accounts, monitoring cash flow, and managing investments.
  • Governance & Strategy: Advising the board on financial risks, fundraising feasibility, and developing long-term financial plans.
  • Internal Controls: Setting up policies and procedures to safeguard against fraud and theft.

Benefits of volunteering with Still Mums:

  • You will be vital in ensuring that care packages can be prepared and sent to bereaved families across Aotearoa.
  • You will also ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation so that they can help families not just now but into the future as well.
