Valley Cycle Workshop is a volunteer run, self funded community bike workshop aiming to recycle bicycles, help people gain bicycle ownership/maintenance skills and give them help to work on their bikes using proper tools with technical advice and support.

Volunteers at Valley Cycle Workhops:

  • build, strip and repair bicycles
  • assist the public with any bike issues they have
  • learn useful bicycle repair skills that they can use for life.

Long time volunteers (3 months plus) will get to choose a bike to refurbish and take home.

Requirements

  • Outgoing and able to communicate well with people from all walks of life.
  • At least 16 years of age.
  • Experience not essential, learn as you go.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • The Valley Cycle Workshop is open 2 days a week - Tuesday afternoons 3:30pm - 5:30pm and Saturday mornings 9:30am - 12:30pm.
  • Volunteer for both days or just one
