The Yellow-Eyed Penguin are seeking capable groups of 10-30 volunteers to help with planting their eco-sourced native trees at Irahuka/Long Point. They will have 2x planting days, one on September 17th (will be postponed in extreme weather), and one flexible another day in September that can be scheduled to suit your team.
This site is rugged and exposed but beautiful. Tasks involve digging holes, planting trees and installing plant guards. A morning tea will be provided.
Requirements
- High level of physical fitness
- Willingness to work outdoors on rugged terrain
- Willingness to follow health and safety guidance
- Ability to lift and carry plants and tools as required
- Enthusiasm for conservation and teamwork
- Sturdy footwear, warm, waterproof clothes, sun protection, gloves
- Food and water
- Own transport
- Minimum time commitment of 3 hours, 10am-1pm
